Could your students use a little extra practice with finding the volume of prisms? This fun, interactive set of volume of rectangular prisms will provide a fun way to practice their skills as they think about the sizes of breakfast boxes.

Help your students in 6th grade practice finding the volume of rectangular prisms using this interactive set for google slides.

This could also be a helpful review of volume for students in 7th grade.

How the Activity Works:

This is a digital activity created for google slides that you can assign in google classroom.

To begin, students must view the slides in edit mode, so they can type onto each slide.

The first 14 slides provide the dimensions for a breakfast box and require students find the total volume of the box. They type their final answer into the box on the slide.

For slides 15-20, students are given two boxes and must decide which box will hold the given breakfast treat, by considering the volume of each using the method of their choice.

For these slides, they can estimate volume or find the exact volume of each and compare.

There are 20 volume questions to consider and solve altogether.

Assign all 20 slides at once, or work through a few at a time to weave in review. You could also project the slide at the front of the class to use as an engaging daily warm-up.
