Do your kids struggle with making sense of points on the coordinate plane? Make practice FUN & combine multiple skills with these interactive google slides! Students will plot points, find distance on the coordinate plane and calculate area of shapes in this digital activity.
 
Using drag and drop points, your 6th grade students will practice plotting points on the coordinate plane with purpose as they form shapes to find distance and area.
 
Each problem is broken into 3 parts. First, students plot points on the coordinate plane to form a shape.
 
In the next problem, they find the distance between points using the graph.
 
Lastly, the use the information they have found to calculate the area of the shape they graphed on the coordinate plane.
 
There are 21 questions altogether, which gradually increase in difficulty to includes more challenging shapes.
