Could your 6th grade students use practice making sense of fraction division? This engaging drag and drop activity uses visual area models to help students divide fractions by fractions.

This set of 20 interactive tasks is designed for Google Slides.

To begin, students must view the slides in edit mode, so they can drag and drop the elements on each slide.

Students first choose an area model to correctly represent the fraction division problem and drag and drop the model into the answer space.

Once they have the model, they use it to determine the final answer to the fraction division problem.

Though dividing with fractions can be a challenging topic for 6th or 7th grade students, visualizing the problems with models will help them to make sense of it and their solutions.
