Is It True? Error Analysis Format:

This product includes 10 individual tasks to practice solving systems of simultaneous linear equations. Each task includes space to decide (yes/no) whether or not it has been solved correctly and then space to provide a justification for their choice.

All 10 tasks focus on solving systems algebraically (with substitution or elimination), so there are no examples of graphing systems in this product.

Choose to assign tasks that address the method you are currently studying, or that address a mistake you are seeing your students make.

Or simply use these throughout your study of linear systems as a way to discuss together as a class and review different methods of solving systems.

In addition, one of the tasks is solved correctly, so that students don’t always assume it must be wrong and truly take time to analyze the problem.
