The variety of questions and math tasks in this set of exit tickets can be used in 5th grade as students first begin to learn factors & multiples, or they can be used in 6th grade as an assessment or quick check before diving deeper and learning LCM & GCF.

How to Use an Exit Ticket:

These exit tickets are simple, half-sheet pages to give to students at the end of class to assess their understanding.

Students then hand them to you as they ‘exit’ the class (or before moving onto a new subject).

These are designed to be completed in about 5 minutes, so you can see if students are internalizing the math concepts.

There are many exit tickets here that allow students to explain math terms in their own words. Again, this will help you as the teacher to see if students understand or have misconceptions that need to be addressed.

Exit tickets can help in your lesson planning because you can tailor your plans to meeting students where they are: if they need additional practice with a skill, if they still don’t understand the difference between factor & multiple, or if everyone has a solid understanding, you can adjust your plans accordingly.
