Do your kids struggle with expressions, combining like terms, and following order of operations? This cute activity will help them practice so many skills while seeing all the ways different expressions can be equivalent.

Using drag and drop expressions, your 6th-7th grade students will practice simplifying expressions by combining like terms, using the distributive property and following order of operations.

The slides do not have a grade level listed, so this can even provide a good review for students in 8th-9th grade who struggle with understanding like terms, distributive property and simplifying expressions.

Just as a chameleon can change colors, students will see that an expression can have many forms and still be equivalent.

Included are 20 different chameleon challenges, where 1 or more of the expressions is equal to the “chameleon expression.”

Help your students build a solid foundation for later Algebra learning with this engaging set of challenge problems!

Math Skills Required:

• Combine like terms with and without variables
• Apply the distributive property to multiply
• Order of operations (does not include exponents)
