Could your little ones use some extra practice with number recognition, writing numerals and place value? This fun set of interactive worksheets will help kids build important foundational math skills.

With this set of low-prep number practice pages, you will get two different styles of worksheets.

First, the number maze worksheets include multiple ways to “see” and each number from 0-20, a fun maze to challenge kids, and handwriting practice with that number.

You can include this as you spend time exploring each number in daily number talks, or as extra practice for early finishers, sub plans or review over a long break (Christmas, summer, etc.)

Second, you will receive a set of “Build the Number” pages for the numbers 11-20.

These build on a basic knowledge of number recognition to help students master those tricky teen numbers and see them as “ten and a number” by representing each number using ten frames.

This lays the important place value foundation, and bridges the gap to addition within 20.

How to Use These Worksheets:

The maze worksheets require no prep–simply print and go.

The build-a-number worksheets can be used in a variety of ways for visual, hands on math exploration:

• Use dimes and pennies to reinforce the idea of “ten and a number”
• Use other small manipulatives for fine motor practice, such as pom pom balls, beans, or buttons
• Use do-a-dot markers to “dot” each space on the ten frames to represent the number

Another idea is to combine the maze worksheet with the place value worksheet for a full lesson on a specific teen number.

For example, focus solely on the number 11 by starting with the maze worksheet, then move onto the “build it” worksheet to deepen their understanding of the number 11.
