This fun and hands-on investigation will give kids a chance to discover the value of the number pi, see the relationship between a circle’s circumference and diameter, as well as understand the formula for the circumference of a circle.

This is fun for “Pi Day,” but could be used any time. 🙂

Materials needed:

• Circular objects
• Measuring tape or ruler
• String (if you’re using a ruler)
